The freshman running back has been turning heads

Michigan football is going to be without two of its best players on defense and maybe its best player on offense in Higdon, who rushed for 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns as he earned All-Big Ten honors.

It would be great to have him, but with the Senior Bowl coming up, you can understand why Higdon wants to save his body as much as possible. The good thing for the Wolverines is they have a couple guys that are more than capable of taking his place and one of them is freshman Christian Turner.

Obviously, junior Chris Evans will probably get the start, yet he has never been a 20-carry guy. He will get some touches and hopefully some passes out of the backfield but Turner is another guy that should get the ball.

During the season, he has 13 rushing attempts for 68 yards and according to Wolverines Wire, he has been standing out in the practices leading up to the Peach Bowl. We all know how Harbaugh likes to ride the hot hand and when Turner gets the ball if he can make some things happen, the Peach Bowl could turn into a breakout performance.
