Aidan Hutchinson is still looking for his first career sack

Not having Gary in the Peach Bowl will also hurt but Michigan football is more used to that because he was absent in a few games this season due to injury.

One guy that stepped up in his absence was freshman defensive end, Aidan Hutchinson. Hutchinson didn’t play as well as guys like Josh Uche and Kwity Paye, who are now in line to start at defensive end next season with the graduation of Winovich and the departure of Gary, but we shouldn’t sleep on Hutchinson, the Wolverines top recruit in 2018.

In seven games this season, he notched 12 tackles and one tackle for loss. He was also able to generate some pressure but didn’t get any sacks. In this game, I think he will get some opportunities and if he could make an impact play or two, it could put him right in the mix at defensive end.

He’s 6-foot-6 and north of 280 pounds but he can move.  You could see his potential as a pass rusher this season and with some extra practices during bowl prep and some extra snaps, maybe he can get that first career sack of force a fumble or something. He has already proven he can hold up well against the run, which is why he will be on the field in the first place against Florida.

But with Gary out, Hutchinson will get more snaps than usual on a big stage and it will tell the Wolverines a lot about what kind of player he can be next season.
