Patterson will play better than McSorley

At the beginning of the season, many believed that Trace McSorley was the best quarterback in the Big Ten. Obviously, Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State has had something to say about that and Saturday, so will Patterson.

It may be true that Patterson isn’t asked to do as much as McSorley, however, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t do what McSorley does. Against Wisconsin, Patterson ran for 90 yards and a touchdown. That was in addition to completing 14-of-20 passes.

Versus Michigan State, Patterson threw for 212 yards and ran for 24. He also threw two touchdowns, including a 79-yarder to Donovan Peoples-Jones and a dart to Nico Collins on a third-and-goal in the first half.

Patterson also helped rally the Wolverines from 17 down against Northwestern. It’s safe to say he’s been an elite player for Michigan football and based on his performances in the last two big games, Patterson will deliver, especially against a Penn State defense giving up 424 yards per game in Big Ten play.
