Michigan holds Penn State under 20

Don Brown is one of, if not the best defensive coordinator in the FBS and he certainly takes a lot of pride in the success of the unit he coaches. That’s why he is still not over the 42 points his Wolverines surrendered last year in Happy Valley.

As you have probably heard, Brown said he wakes up every day and thinks about that night, when McSorley racked up over 300 total yards and Saquon Barkley ran wild. Brown and the Wolverines also haven’t forgotten how Penn State tried to run up the score in the final minute.

So not only in this Michigan defense incredibly talented, but it’s also extremely motivated for this matchup and with McSorley less than 100 percent, the Wolverines have to be licking their chops.

Penn State can still pose some problems, especially if Miles Sanders gets going on the ground. KJ Hamler is also dangerous along with Juwan Johnson.

The Big key will be the run defense. If Michigan, which is allowing just 97 yards per game on the ground can make Penn State be one dimensional, it’s going to be a long day for McSorley, who is going to get hit early and often. Bottom line, it’s hard to see Penn State scoring 20.
