What a performance by Michigan's senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg.
With 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal, Lendeborg was seemingly everywhere on the court, and his effort paid off as the Michigan Wolverines blew past the Tennessee Volunteers to advance to the Final Four.
Lendeborg has been playing extraordinary basketball throughout all of Michigan's run to the Final Four, but his performance against Tennessee was genuinely one for the record books.
With his 27 points, Lendeborg scored the most points by a Wolverine in the Regional final since none other than Juwan Howard scored 30 points in 1994.
Yes, the Howard performance from 1994 that fell just short of sending the Wolverines and the Fab Five to the Final Four.
Yaxel Lendeborg joins Juwan Howard in Michigan history
This wasn't an out-of-the-ordinary performance by Lendeborg either. Just one game earlier, as Michigan defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide, he put up 23 points. One round earlier, he scored 25 against the Saint Louis Billikens.
Lendeborg has been peaking at the perfect time as the Wolverines prepare to take on one of the other top teams still remaining in the tournament: the No. 1-seed Arizona Wildcats.

While his season averages are sitting at 14.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, those three numbers have continued to improve throughout March Madness. Over the last three matchups, Lendeborg has averaged 25 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
Michigan head coach Dusty May is going to need Lendeborg to continue producing these phenom-level numbers in order for the Wolverines to topple the Wildcats, who have had some pretty astonishing performances of their own on the way to the Final Four.
The two No. 1 seeds are scheduled to play in the Final Four on April 4, and tip-off time will be announced once the final Elite Eight game has concluded.
