Georgia commit Jayden Wade and JJ McCarthy have a special bond for attending the same high school where both will go down as NFL talents when all is said and done. Not that it's McCarthy's job, but he could do the new staff a giant favor and help sway Wade to go to the same college where he won a national championship at too.
First things first, though, Michigan has to get him on campus for a visit and pitch their brand to him, where he can't say no. Few thought Michigan football could flip Bryce Underwood, and that sent shockwaves through the recruiting world when it happened. The same energy would be felt if they could do it again with Wade in 2028.
How to steal Wade away from Georgia
To do that, they'll have to offer him an NIL package that he can't refuse. The last time Michigan flipped a Georgia recruit was Brady Marchese, but because of the coaching change, he wound up at Auburn. All joking aside, Michigan football can flip Wade if they really want him bad enough, just like they did with Underwood. They have to treat him like he's in their own backyard and a must-have priority. Michigan's gift from the gods came after Underwood committed to LSU early in the process as well, so time shouldn't be a factor.
To aid in the search Underwood will have to play better than he did a year ago. Jason Beck and Koy Detmer Jr. have to turn him into the player that he was envisioned to be by so many. As far as the Bulldogs are concerned they just received a committment from Colton Nussmeier today. This could certainly throw a wrench in Wade's plans. Michigan will be waiting in the wings to try and sneak in and strike while the iron is still hot if Wade considers decomitting soon.
To go from McCarthy to Underwood to Wade would be a cradle of quarterbacks the likes of which have never been seen before in Ann Arbor. If programs like Georgia, Oregon and Ohio State can do it so effortlessly, so should the maize and blue.
