Spring practices are in the books now for Michigan football after the spring game on Saturday. Over 40,000 fans were in attendance to see Bryce Underwood take the field for the first time as a Michigan Wolverine.

Underwood had some great moments. He also had some struggles. The true freshman completed 12 of 25 passes for 188 yards. He had one touchdown and one interception and also scrambled for a 13-yard first down in addition to being sacked a couple of times.

Still, you could see the glimpses. Underwood would have had more yards and touchdowns if his wide receivers had held onto the football. It also appeared that he expected a receiver to run a different route on his interception.

“He did well, made some really, good throws and had some things we need to clean up and get better at," Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said of Underwood via Larry Lage of the AP.

Moore also said that Michigan football would look at quarterback "options" in the transfer portal. Mikey Keene is still expected to be on the roster this fall. Moore pointed to him playing more than 2,000 snaps during his career, so he won't need as many reps. He also said the QB battle will go into the fall.

The offensive line was a concern on Saturday, giving up at least five sacks. Moore said that Greg Crippen, Giovanni El-Hadi, and Andrew Sprague were the three "set" starters going into the fall. He also said that Evan Link, Brady Norton, Nathan Efobi, and Andrew Babalola were the others in contention to start this season.

Michigan could add an offensive tackle from the transfer portal. Saturday only reinforced that need, as well as the need for another wide receiver or two.
