Two offensive tackles to watch for Michigan football in transfer portal
Michigan football continues to be active in the transfer portal. The Wolverines hosted a couple of visitors this week and will have another top target on campus this weekend.
There are some clear needs for Michigan football. Some of those needs could also depend on NFL draft decisions. For instance, if J.J. McCarthy leaves for the NFL draft, there will be a much bigger need at quarterback.
Either way, Dante Moore has been a top target at that position. However, offensive tackle is another position of need for Michigan football as LaDarius Henderson is a graduate. Henderson was added from the transfer portal last offseason and now the Wolverines could seek his replacement in the portal.
There are a couple of interesting options. One of them is former Texas A&M standout and top-100 recruit Chase Bisontis. He's a 2023 recruit and Michigan football was a contender. He was ranked 72nd overall in the 2023 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
LSU is one of the programs in the mix, but Michigan football has been in contact. The Bleacher Report even predicted that the Wolverines will land the 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle.
Bisontis started all 12 games for Texas A&M as a freshman. He also earned All-SEC honors last season, so he would be a plug-and-play guy. He seems like a future first-round pick.
We'll see if Michigan football can land him, but it would be a major boon if it did. Another target could be former Oklahoma offensive tackle Cayden Green. The Wolverines were a top contender in his recruitment. Green chose the Sooners but after he entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, you wonder if the Wolverines will reach out again.
Green, like Bisontis, was a top-100 in the 2023 class. He was an 11-game starter for Oklahoma, getting starts at left guard and left tackle.
