Notre Dame landed a top quarterback from the 2026 class over the weekend, but in a way, that's could be good news for Michigan football.

That's because another Notre Dame target in the 2026 class, Brady Hart, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound quarterback from the state of Florida, has now been projected to land with the Michigan Wolverines.

Mike Singer a Notre Dame recruiting expert for On3.com, has put in a prediction for Michigan football to get Hart's commitment. Hart had previously scheduled a visit to the Michigan Wolverines for June and now, U-M feels like the clear favorite.

Out of Cocoa, Florida, Hart is ranked 95th overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's also ranked 8th among quarterbacks in the 2026. Florida State is another team to watch. He visited FSU this spring. Oregon, LSU, and Louisville have all offered in the past month too.

Michigan Wolverines ranked 14th by USA in post-spring rankings

USA Today has released its post-spring top 25 rankings and the Michigan Wolverines are ranked outside the top 10 at 14th. Here's what was written about Michigan football along with the ranking:

"Michigan is a tough nut to crack. The quarterback situation remains undecided, but everyone knows the other side of the football will be championship-caliber based on what's coming back. Can Sherrone Moore keep it going at Michigan and have his team playing with an elite edge? Pounding the football with Donovan Edwards and others might be a winning recipe for a team on the nation's longest winning streak."

Until Michigan football shows what it has at quarterback, people have a right to be skeptical. I believe the running game and defense will be elite though, and that quarterback will be just fine.

Michigan Wolverines among contenders for elite hoops transfer

It was reported that the Michigan Wolverines were among the contenders for former Florida State standout Jamir Watkins but that was confirmed on Monday by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports who reported that Michigan is a consideration for the 6-foot-7 forward along with St. John's, Florida State, Oregon, Kansas State, and Cincinnati.

Watkins is a New Jersey native, so watch out for St. John's. The Michigan Wolverines and St. John's have been the most prominent mentions over the past few days, but this would be a perfect fit for U-M and getting him to Ann Arbor for a visit is when it becomes real.
