Michigan football working on another flip in the 2025 recruiting class

Michigan football is looking for more wide receiver help in the 2025 class and is hosting a North Carolina State commitment this weekend.

Recruiting hasn't been a main topic of conversation in recent weeks and to be fair, it usually dies off a little during the Michigan football season.

There is plenty of news though as the Wolverines are still putting in work to secure the commitments they want in the 2025 class, as well as looking ahead to 2026 and 2027.

Earlier this week, Michigan football was projected to flip an Iowa commitment though. That recruit is three-star kicker Scott Starzyk. Some Wolverines fans might scoff at the notion of trying to flip a kicker but over the past three seasons, we have seen the importance of a reliable kicker.

Ohio State knows what it means not to have one. If they did, the Buckeyes might have been able to beat Georgia in 2022 or Michigan in 2023. It would have been more interesting. But Starzyk isn't the only 2025 recruit Michigan is trying to flip.

Michigan trying to flip a wide receiver too

Three-star wideout Jamar Browder, who is 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, and ranked No. 775 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings, in addition to being a North Carolina State commitment is one name to keep an eye on. According to Steve Wiltfong of On3.com, Browder will visit Ann Arbor this weekend for the Minnesota game.

The Wolverines just offered Browder earlier this week and the recruitment is picking up steam. The talented wideout has been solid in his his first four games of 2024 with 20 receptions for 358 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 14 touchdown passes as a junior.

Browder's game was canceled this week due to the Hurricane, which allowed for the visit to happen. I'm not sure I'm confident in a flip yet, but this weekend will be a great chance for the Wolverines to make an impression and to keep building momentum.
