Week two is here as the Texas Longhorns invade Ann Arbor to face the defending national champion, Michigan Wolverines. I am here to bring you another Michigan football gameday recipe and a prop bet for you. Unfortunately, last week's bet did not hit but we are coming back to make some money this week.

Recipe: Grilled smash burgers

Smash burger recipes are all similar but depending on how you like them and what type of grill you are using, everybody can vary their recipe a little bit

Ingredients:

Ground beef. 85% lean and 15% fat is my favorite ratio.

Cheese. My wife likes American but I like cheddar.

Martin's potato roll. Martin's are the best buns out there and I will not be convinced otherwise.

Onion. We like to use red onion best because we prefer the flavor and we love them caramelized. Yellow onion will be good as well when caramelized.

Special sauce: Mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard, white onion, spicy pickles, pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper.

Bacon. Optional but if you are like me, you love bacon on your burger.

Onion rings. Again, optional. Store bought, nothing fancy-but man do they add a great crunch! And yes, we double up on our onions.

How to make smash burgers for Michigan football vs. Texas

Smash burgers are a great twist on the traditional cheeseburger. They are super easy and one of my favorite meals on a college football Saturday. Start by rolling your ground beef into individual balls. Eyeball them based on how big you want each patty.

I like to eat my Smash burgers as a double patty so I make each ball a little smaller than I would if only using one patty on my burger. Next, salt each patty liberally. A good burger always has a proper level of salt in each bite. Next, use a tool to smash the patty. I don't have anything fancy so I put a spatula on top of a small dinner plate and smash the patties down.

Next, you are going to heat your grill up. I like to get the grill to about 375 degrees (I use a charcoal grill, so have to monitor it). While the grill is heating up, you can get the onions caramelizing in a pan on the stove. Mix in butter on low temperature, stirring often. You can also make the special sauce while the grill is heating up. Finely chop white onion and as many pickle chips as you desire for flavor. Combine with all other ingredients as much or little as you would like. It doesn't have to be perfectly measured out, just keep adding until you reach desired flavor.

Let the sauce rest in the fridge once it is done. Throw the burgers on the grill and monitor closely as they will cook fast. Continue to flip until you reach the desired crust on the burgers. I like to melt my cheese on the burger while it is still on the grill as it is almost finished cooking on the grill. Next, grill your potato buns to your desired char. If you are including bacon, make sure it is ready in the oven. Once everything is complete, assemble your burger to your liking and enjoy! Here was our finished product last time we made them (with Michigan football playing in the Big Ten Championship in the background).

Favorite week two prop bet

Michigan football over 16.5 points at -125.

I like this bet a lot. When you go back and watch the tape from last week, you start to feel a lot better about the Michigan football offense than you did immediately after the game. Tons of blocks where guys slipped, routes where receivers didn't see the ball and stopped running, and dropped passes by usually reliable-handed receivers.

Sherrone Moore said in an interview this week that the offense was going to put their hard hat on and get back to work. I am confident they will clean up those mistakes and put more consistent drives together. Another reason I like this bet is because big games like this seem to always play out with both teams putting points on the board. Texas wants to throw the ball and use their speed.

They are going to put some points on the board but are also going to be prone to turnovers against an elite Michigan defense.

Michigan football lacked the explosive play last week. I expect a trick play or two from the Wolverines to help move the ball. Donovan Edwards has a knack for showing up in big games as well.

Overall, Texas lost some big-time talent up front from last year's team and I am hoping Michigan's offensive line benefits because of that. I anticipate this game is higher scoring than some people are thinking and Michigan eclipses that 16.5 mark. More consistency and big plays will give us some cash in our pockets this week. Go Blue!
