5 bold predictions for Michigan football against Texas
The biggest non-conference game at the House in 30 years is set for Saturday as Michigan football will host Texas at noon.
It should be an epic showdown. Texas has one of the best quarterbacks in college football in Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns are ranked No. 3, fresh off a conference title, and a College Football Playoff berth.
This would be a huge resume builder for both teams. Michigan football is a 7.5-point underdog and part of that has to do with the struggles in a 30-10 win over Fresno State.
Texas looks like a true national title contender. Their defensive line isn't as good as it was last season when Texas allowed just 2.9 yards per attempt. The Horns still had a top-20 scoring defense. Michigan football has an elite defense and an offense that left much to be desired last week.
But it was one game. The Wolverines will be better this week. That's one small prediction and here are five bold predictions for Michigan football vs. Texas.
Michigan football will run for at least 200 yards
The Wolverines didn't run the ball that well last week. They got 154 yards about half came on the last touchdown drive. Kalel Mullings finally got going and so did the offenive line.
Donovan Edwards struggled last week with just 2.5 yards per carry. There's no need to panic though. The Michigan football offensive line wasn't sharp. But there are plenty of correctable errors.
Those guys will play better this week. Mullings will get some carries earlier if Edwards doesn't get going, but I really have a hard time seeing Edwards stuffed two weeks in a row.
I think Michigan averages well over four years a pop and gets 200 rushing yards total against Texas. But on the flip side, if the ground game struggles, it could be a long day for Davis Warren.
