Michigan football stays hot with commitment of MSU legacy Kaden Strayhorn

It's been another stellar weekend for Michigan football recruiting as the Wolverines landed another commitment, this time from Kaden Strayhorn.

When your head coach is a former offensive lineman and former offensive line coach, you trust that the commitments at that position group can play and that's definitely true of the latest Michigan football commitment -- Kaden Strayhorn.

Strayhorn is a three-star recruit. But he's going to play better than that for Michigan football. There is a reason the Wolverines have focused on him as their center for the 2025 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder from the state of Michigan originally, is from the IMG Academy, where he currently plays. Strayhorn took official visits to Ohio State and Alabama in the past month. He was also offered recently by LSU.

However, you got the feeling going into the weekend that Michigan football had the lead. The Wolverines just needed to close and they were able to do that this weekend.

Michigan football continues to build recruiting momentum

On Saturday, Sherrone Moore, the Michigan football head coach, posted the eyeball emoji three times and the #GoBlue. Now, we have two commitments on the board so it appears as though Moore was indeed talking about Strayhorn and Donovan Johnson. We don't know who the third recruit is yet but I have a feeling we'll find out soon enough.

There are plenty of candidates especially now that Michigan is trending to land top-50 wideout Andrew Marsh and also top-5 tight end (in the 2025 class) Andrew Olesh.

As far as Strayhorn, this is a recruit better than the rankings suggest. He's versatile and can help the Wolverines at multiple spots. But down the road, I could easily see him as a multi-year starter and a huge piece of the offensive line for multiple seasons from the center position.

But, when you have a guy who can play multiple spots, it makes it even more likely that he will be able to contribute and that's the case for Strayhorn, who feels like a blue-chip prospect even as a three-star in the composite rankings.
