Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines Heavy Favorites For CB
Michigan football hasn't landed a commitment in about a month. That seems set to change shortly, as four star Texas cornerback Jayden Sanders is set to make his commitment on August 10th. Michigan is the overwhelming favorite according to ON3, with Steve Wiltfong having joined EJ Holland in making a prediction in Michigan's favor.
After missing on other top cornerback targets, it was imperative that Michigan got one locked up ASAP. The Wolverines are already thin at cornerback, and have struggled to recruit top corners since NIL, as cornerbacks have some of the highest market values.
Sanders is a guy to be very excited about. At 6'2, he has the frame to be an elite defender, and Michigan's strength staff is going to love working with him. Coming from Texas, Sanders also has experience playing against some of the best high school competition in the nation. Simply put, he would be a great win for the Wolverine recruiting class.
Michigan football is looking to regain recruiting momentum, and now is the perfect time. Along with Sanders, top wide receiver target Andrew Marsh is scheduled to commit on August 20th, and five-star offensive lineman Andrew Babalola could commit soon. Going into the season with momentum on the recruiting trail would be huge for the Wolverines, as they continue to fight for a top-10 recruiting class.
Defensive backs coach Lamar Morgan has done a fantastic job in the 2025 cycle, having secured two top 100 safeties and being on the verge of landing Sanders. Let's hope that Michigan football is able to create some momentum that helps them land other top targets. Keep an eye out for the Sanders commitment and other recruiting news. Go blue.
