Future Michigan football QB Brady Hart looking like a 5-star

Michigan football QB commitment Brady Hart stood out this past weekend at a recruiting event and was looking like a future five-star recruit.

As a Michigan football fan, it's hard not to get excited about the 2026 quarterback commitment of Brady Hart.

Not only has the 6-foot-4, 180-pound passer been compared to J.J. McCarthy, but he's also a top-100 overall prospect in the 2026 class and is No. 7 among quarterbacks.

Hart also seems to have the hatred of Ohio State already. He was offered by the Buckeyes, then committed after talking to J.J. McCarthy while he was in Columbus. The four-star QB even trolled Ohio State's culture as a season why he chose Michigan football instead.

There is still a long way to go until Signing Day in 2026, although with new rules, the recruiting calendar is undergoing a big change. Beyond holding Hart's commitment, which will be a top priority for Sherrone Moore and company, the blue-chip quarterback will have plenty of opportunities to improve his ranking and it started this weekend at the Under Armour Top 50.

This isn't just Michigan fan talk either. Hart was awarded the MVP at Day Two of the event. Here's what On3 scout Cody Bellaire wrote about Hart's performance:

“Day two of Future 50 was primarily focused on drills and individual workouts. Each of the quarterbacks threw around 50 balls a piece on Saturday morning and the best of the bunch was. He was so strong from start to finish. His consistency in his mechanics is phenomenal. He ties his lower half to his upper body. His footwork is clean and precise. He keeps everything in line and under control even when he is on the move. Every ball he throws looks the exact same coming out of his hand. The ball has zip coming out, a consistent tight spiral, and consistently on the money from an accuracy standpoint. His ceiling is through the roof and his floor is about as safe as any prospect in the country. My biggest takeaway from this event? Brady Hart is that dude.”

The last sentence is the one I love. The fact that the scout calls Brady Hart, "That dude" should make Michigan football fans feel really good about their future quarterback.

Hart is one of the younger 2026 quarterbacks and last season, in his first as a starter, he threw 41 touchdown passes and also led his team to a state championship. I truly believe his ranking is going to start to rise. He could be the next five-star quarterback to sign with Michigan football and the rise might have started this weekend.
