There's been a bit of a shakeup with Michigan football quarterback recruiting in the 2026 class.

Michigan football has done a great job of recruiting quarterbacks under Kirk Campbell. He's landed four-star Jadyn Davis, a top-10 quarterback in his class.

Campbell also has a commitment in the 2025 class from Carter Smith, a dude ranked 161 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and 14th among quarterbacks. Smith also fits what Michigan football wants exactly and his ranking could still improve.

But looking ahead to 2026, it seemed like Michigan football was zeroing in on Brady Hart, especially after Notre Dame took 2026 QB Noah Grubbs. Hart seemed like a Michigan-Notre Dame battle. However, another threat has entered the fray.

Hart visited Clemson recently and the Tigers are now the favorite to land his commitment according to a crystal ball from Tom Loy of 247 Sports, as well as an expert projection from On3 Notre Dame expert Mike Singer, who actually projected Hart to U-M earlier this week with low confidence.

Now the confidence, for both picks actually is 6/10. That doesn't mean it's a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. Michigan football will host Hart this month and Campbell will get a chance to improve the Wolverines position.

However, if Hart does end up going to Clemson, another quarterback on the Michigan football radar is Troy Huhn. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound quarterback from San Marcos, California will visit the Wolverines on June 17th and told Zach Libby of The Wolverine he's been building up a bond with Kirk Campbell.

"They are a winning program and as of right now, they are the best in college football," Huhn said.

Huhn is ranked 109th overall in the 2026 class and 10th among quarterbacks according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Michigan football offered last month. Kentucky and Auburn have also offered recently and he took a trip to camp at Texas.

Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Washington, Auburn, Kentucky, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, and UCLA have all offered. We'll see where things go from here but with Michigan losing traction with Brady Hart, they need to fix that or build momentum with another.
