3 predictions for Michigan football offense in 2024
The 2024 Michigan football season is just days away. U-M starts the defense of its national championship next Saturday against Fresno State in a night game.
Going into the season, there aren't many questions about the defense. Everyone expects Michigan football to have a championship-level defense.
But what about the offense?
Michigan football fans are focused on the starting quarterback job. However, it was reported over the weekend that Alex Orji is the "expected starter."
That doesn't mean he has won the job. It just means he'll start against Fresno State. But he can earn the job on the field and that's where we'll start with our predictions.
Alex Orji wins and keeps the QB job
Orji is super athletic, has a really strong arm, and has really dedicated himself to being the Michigan stater. That doesn't mean he'll have what it takes to keep the job.
But if Orji can be an effective passer and limit turnovers, all the stuff he can do with his feet will make it impossible for Davis Warren to surpass him.
If Orji struggles, you could see Jadyn Davis get a shot down the line. He's taken a big step since the spring and he'll only continue to improve with more college experience.
But I'm going to say Orji keeps the job and throws for over 2,000 yards, while rushing for 500 and he'll account for at least 20 total touchdowns.
