Defensive depth

It seems clear that Michigan football is interested in adding a linebacker. Former Wolverine Nikhai Hill-Green, fresh off being third-team all-conference for Charlotte, has entered the portal as a graduate transfer.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder has had over 50 tackles in the past two seasons in which he has played and the interest tells you Michigan football would probably like some depth at linebacker.

Yet, with nearly 20 guys going to the NFL in one way or another, it makes sense to add depth across the board on defense. Michigan could use another cornerback, a linebacker, and probably another pass rusher.

You can never have enough talent and last season, Michigan was fortunate with injuries. The Wolverines have already lost Rod Moore for the season which is a reminder that depth isn't a luxury when it comes to winning championships, it's a requirement.
