Michigan football a team to watch for LB Nikhai Hill-Green in transfer portal
The spring transfer portal window opens this week and that's something that has had Michigan football fans on edge for good reason.
They aren't alone. College football fans everywhere have to worry about their best players getting poached. I don't think things will be that crazy though. I also don't see Michigan football having a mass exodus of players.
Things can always change but I'd be surprised if any of Michigan's star players entered the transfer portal this week.
What will also be interesting to follow are potential transfer portal additions for Michigan football and one that's possible is a former Wolverine -- Nikhai Hill-Green. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker played in 13 games for the Wolverines in 2021 with 50 tackles and two tackles for loss.
Hill-Green was hurt in 2022 and didn't play any games for Michigan football. Then, he transferred to Charlotte, following Biff Poggi last offseason. Hill-Green played in 11 games and had 73 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, and three pass breakups. He was ninth in the American in solo tackles.
Hill-Green committed to UCF but backed off that. Now, he's been seen training in Ann Arbor according to Chris Balas of The Wolverine. He's in the transfer portal now and is a graduate transfer.
Michigan football is set in terms of its starting linebackers with Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham, but you can never have enough depth. Hill-Green was a solid player with the Wolverines before he got hurt and was third-team All-Conference in the American. He could certainly be a solid piece for the Wolverines this season and his name is one to watch in the coming weeks.
