All signs were pointing to Michigan and Kyle Whittingham growing the already impressive 2027 list, and it just happened. Out of Oceanside, Calif., four-star offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo has committed to Michigan, doing so after it was widely expected for a few weeks that he was going to give Whittingham the news he was hoping for.
This of course wasn't easy for Michigan, as the 6-4, 280-pounder was also giving Washington and Utah, his other two finalists, a serious look. In the end, though, Mageo made it more than clear why he's taking his game to Ann Arbor for his college career, and Michigan fans sure are going to love seeing what the youngster had to say. In short, give offensive line coach Jim Harding a MAJOR assist for helping UM close this one out.
"Honestly just looking at it for life after football, I think they (Michigan) can set me up for life after football," Mageo said. "Looking at the football side of it, I think Coach Harding can develop me to be the offensive lineman that I want to be. He's got a great history of coaching all these great offensive linemen - that's why I made this decision."

Lincoln Mageo gives Michigan 21 commits for the 2027 class and he's fired up over his decision
Those words from Mageo tell us that he's fully set with his commitment, and that the Michigan staff isn't going to have to worry about him potentially flipping down the road. Mageo's size alone is a big reason why people should be jacked up his potential at The Big House, but the size of this recruiting win can't be ignored either.
Throughout his recruitment, Mageo picked up 21 total offers, with his list being highlighted by Michigan, Utah, Washington, Arizona, Ohio State, Texas, UCLA, and others. According to the 247Sports Composite, the newest Michigan commit is ranked the No. 19 interior offensive lineman in the country, No. 31 player out of California, and No. 369 prospect nationally for the 2027 class.
He's also the fourth offensive line pledge for Whittingham for this cycle, as he's joined by fellow interior lineman Louis Esposito, plus tackles Jakari Lipsey and Sidney Rouleau. More big-bodied pledges could be on the way later this year, but for now, Michigan supporters can celebrate this Mageo news, as it sure feels like a major addition for Whittingham. It also once again highlights the fantastic work he's getting done out on the recruiting trail.
