Earlier today, the Michigan Wolverines and head coach Dusty May received their second commitment out of the transfer portal when four-star power forward Jalen Reed chose the defending National Champions after spending four years with the LSU Tigers.

Between Reed and J.P. Estrella's commitments out of the portal and May's No. 2 recruiting class of 2026, the Wolverines are undeniably set for success next season.

However, one big question still looms overhead: Will veteran forward Morez Johnson Jr. declare for the 2026 NBA Draft or return for another season in Ann Arbor?

Well, his reaction to the announcement of Reed's commitment to Michigan certainly has Wolverine fans feeling hopeful for his return.

Morez Johnson teases return with reaction to Jalen Reed commitment

While Johnson's reaction wasn't simple, only retweeting the news with the yellow "M" emoji, it had fans believing that he would only share that message if he were planning to return for another year at Michigan.

In other words, they took his simple celebration of Reed's commitment as a very telling sign of what Johnson's decision would be for next year.

In the replies to Johnson's retweet, Michigan fans flooded the comments, begging Johnson for another season with the Wolverines, sharing everything from their belief that his return could guarantee back-to-back National Championships to memes from The Simpsons.

Obviously, his return doesn't actually lock in a second consecutive title run for May and the Wolverines, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Of course, tomorrow, April 24, is the final day for college players to declare for the NBA Draft, with the cutoff taking place at 11:59 p.m. ET. However, even if Johnson chose to declare for the Draft, he could withdraw his name as late as June 13, at 5 p.m. ET.

One big argument in the Wolverines' favor? If Johnson returns, and Michigan does win back-to-back nattys, he would undoubtedly get selected even higher in next year's NBA Draft, meaning more money for his rookie contract.
