As we discussed earlier this week, there are still some elite targets on the board for Michigan football in the 2026 recruiting class.

One of those is four-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds. The 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive tackle out of Suwannee, Georgia, is ranked 96th overall, according to the On3 Industry rankings. He's also ranked 73rd overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The Wolverines have put together an elite haul so far in the 2026 class with 20 commitments, and 13 blue-chip recruits, including five on the defensive line. At defensive tackle, Titan Davis and Alister Vallejo are two recruits Michigan fans are excited about.

But adding Geralds would give the Wolverines another talented big man capable of playing across the defensive line for Michigan football in the future.

After taking official visits to Michigan football, Ohio State, LSU, Ole Miss, and Oregon, Geralds is expected to make a commitment this summer. On Wednesday, according to Hayes Fawcett, we learned when that will be as the elite defensive tackle will announce on August 2nd.

This is a hard one to read. Ohio State is the leader according to the On3/Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, which gives the Buckeyes a 77 percent chance to win this recruitment.

However, that's based on an expert prediction from months ago, which doesn't seem relevant. There aren't any crystal ball predictions either.

Oregon is probably the favorite. I wouldn't count out Michigan or Ohio State, but the Wolverines have work to do over the next few weeks if they are going to add a sixth blue-chip recruit to their defensive line haul in 2026.
