After things got crazy on Saturday night, and Michigan football missed out on five-star wideout Calvin Russell, the Wolverines have had to re-focus their energy on other targets.
One of those should be four-star Salesi Moa, one of the most dynamic athletes in the 2026 recruiting class. Moa is one of the top targets left on the board for Michigan football.
For everyone expecting Salesi Moa to announce his school today, I’ve been told he recently delayed it. Before anyone freaks out, Moa delayed it before @SWiltfong_ made his @On3sports @Rivals prediction. pic.twitter.com/mN5YbPof6X

One reason for that is that Moa, who was supposed to announce a commitment this week, decided to delay his decision, according to Alex Markham, a Utah reporter for On3.com.
Just before he decided to delay, Moa, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete, ranked 50th overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, was projected to Utah by Steve Wilftong of Rivals/On3.
Moa is from Ogden, Utah. However, he took an official visit to Michigan football on June 13th. Yet, one thing that's been holding the Wolverines back in this recruitment is the fact that they have been recruiting Moa solely as a defensive back (safety).
Utah and other programs have offered the chance for him to play on both sides of the ball. He had 40 tackles and two interceptions last season, returning both for touchdowns. But, Moa has had over 800 yards in each of his three high school seasons, with at least 49 receptins, which he recorded as a freshman.
This spring, Moa ran a 10.74 in the 100-meter dash. The dude has 28-career touchdown receptions, so is there is an option on the board to replace Calvin Russell at wide receiver, Moa is it.
Or, the elite athlete can play safety. Either way, Michigan football needs Moa in the class and this delay could give the Wolverines a chance to make it happen.
