Michigan football has a bunch of irons in the fire in the 2026 recruiting class. It would be nice to see the Wolverines start closing, and they are trending in the right direction to do just that with some key targets.
Earlier this week, Michigan football was projected to land a three-star quarterback in the 2026 class. A four-star offensive line has also been trending with expert picks to land with the Michigan Wolverines.
Yet, according to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals, Michigan football is "trending up" with Travis Johnson, a four-star wideout in the 2026 class who just took his third visit to see the Wolverines. Johnson told Spiegelman, "I can definitely see myself there."

Johnson is 6-foot-3, 185 pounds out of Chesapeake, Virginia, and ranked No. 137 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Virginia Tech, Georgia, Penn State, and South Carolina join Michigan football is among those programs being listed as "warm" in the recruitment, but the Wolverines have been building momentum. They are also expected to have him on campus for an official visit this summer, along with the other four teams in the mix.
Michigan football loses a player to the transfer portal
Michigan football player Alessandro Lorenzetti has entered the transfer portal. The defensive tackle and one-time offensive line recruit, has been part of the program for three seasons since signing in the 2022 class but hasn't appeared in any games. He will have two years left to play.
Michigan Wolverines win on the diamond
One day after a Michigan baseball pitcher tossed the first no-hitter since 1994, the Michigan Wolverines scored twice in the bottom of the 10th to beat Oakland, 8-7, on Wednesday.
Benny Casillas had three hits and three RBI in the win for U-M. Colby Turner had three RBI, inclduing the game winner. Cade Connolly was solid with four scoreless innings to start.
Erin Hoehn had another stellar showing on the mound for Michigan softball. She allowed just one run on six hits in six innings of work. She also hit her first college home run in a 6-2 win over Central Michigan. The Michigan Wolverines are now 28-12 on the season.
