The 2025 Michigan football season is right around the corner, now just 19 days away. Over the weekend, the Wolverines were on the practice field but took part in a scrimmage on Saturday.

Bryce Underwood stood out for the Wolverines. He took all of the reps as the No. 1 quarterback, and according to one insider, he had a "good day."

Even though Sherrone Moore hasn't named Underwood the starter, that can't be far off. The players know who the best quarterback is. So does everyone else and the time to make it official is likely coming soon.

The defense also stood out and one of the things that did was the depth on that side of the ball.

Michigan football trending for elite 2027 quarterback

The Wolverines are starting to heat up in the 2027 recruiting class. Michigan football has added a pair of offensive line recruits. Now, U-M is trending to land four-star quarterback Peter Bourque.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound quarterback is ranked No. 86 overall, according to the Rivals Industry rankings. He's the seventh-ranked quarteback in that ranking system, and ranked sixth among the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Wolverines a 94-percent chance to land his commitment after projections from Steve Wiltfong and others. Bourque also joined Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore in posting eyeball emojis, so a commitment could be coming soon. I'd be surprised if a commitment didn't come this week.

That would be the fourth consecutive class for Michigan football with a quarterback commitment ranked in the top 160 overall.

Naz Hillmon shines again for Atlanta Dream

The Atlanta Dream are tied for the second-best record in the WNBA with the New York Liberty, thanks to a 74-66 win over the Phoenix Mercury, and Naz Hillmon is a huge reason why.

The former Michigan women's basketball player started on Sunday, playing 36 minutes (second most on the team). She finished with a double-double (13 points and 13 rebounds) to go along with four assists.

Hillmon was 3-of-8 from 3-point range and has averaged 14.5 points per game over her past six games (four starts), as well as 9.1 rebounds per game. She's also made 13 3-pointers in the past six games.

More importantly, Hillmon has become a key player for one of the WNBA's best teams.
