Michigan Wolverines news: Elite Georgia commit projected to flip to U-M, more
This is going to be a critical weekend on the recruiting trail for the Michigan football program and on Thursday, the visit weekend for Michigan State just got even bigger.
In addition to top-100 commitment Ivan Taylor being on campus, as well as four-star defensive back Jordan Young in the 2025 class, Georgia commitment Shamari Earls, a top target for the Michigan Wolverines earlier in the 2025 class, is also visiting according to Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider.
Michigan football has been working to flip Earls and according to a new crystal ball projection from Webb, the Michigan Wolverines are expected to do just that. Earls still needs to make it to Ann Arbor for his visit, but as long as that happens, and things go well, Michigan football should be flipping the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder ranked 82nd overall out of Chester, Virginia.
If Michigan football could flip Earls and hang onto Taylor, it would have three players ranked in the top 125 overall of the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class just in the secondary.
More Bryce Underwood buzz for Michigan football
It's hard to know exactly what's going on with five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, but it's clear that Sherrone Moore and Michigan football are making a run at him.
Underwood is "torn" between LSU and Michigan according to a new report, and right now, Michigan Wolverines fans are in wait-and-see mode.
Michigan Wolverines land commitment in women's basketball
Michigan women's basketball continues to build a solid 2025 class. Earlier this week, the team got a commitment four-star forward Ciara Byars, who is ranked in the top 100 according to ESPNW rankings for the 2025 class. Byars, a 6-foot-2 prospect, chose the Michigan Wolverines over Louisville, Mississippi State, Maryland and others.
Byars joins No. 35 prospect McKenzie Mathurin and Jessica Fields as Michigan's third commit of the 2025 class under head coach Kim Barnes-Arico.
