Michigan Wolverines news: Bryce Underwood 'hasn't said no', plus more
If there was ever any momentum in the movement by Michigan football to flip five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU, it seems to have stalled.
The Wolverines have been putting on the full-court press in recent weeks to try and convince the No. 1 QB and No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 class, who also happens to be from Belleville, Michigan, to flip his commitment to Michigan football.
A huge NIL offer has been part of that. Some reports have suggested that the Michigan Wolverines have offered in excess of $10 million. However, earlier this week, Underwood shared a post on his Instagram that said the quarterback would likely decline Michigan's offer.
It kind of felt like that was going to happen all along, but according to Josh Henschke of Rivals, Michigan football hasn't been told no. Maybe it won't be but it hasn't happened yet. I wouldn't get your hopes up but my guess is that the Wolverines keep pushing until the final bell (signing day).
Honestly, unless LSU loses its offensive coordinator or something like that, I don't see a flip as a realistic possbility. That being said, putting out that Michigan football has a bunch of NIL money to throw around is a good thing -- time for the Wolverines to have an offseason like Ohio State did.
Michigan football coaches visit Brady Hart
2025 quarterback recruiting has kind of gone by the wayside, but the truth is, as long as the Michigan Wolverines keep Brady Hart, they'll be fine (and get a QB in the portal).
Sherrone Moore and Kirk Campbell spent the Friday night of their bye week visiting the top-100 quarterback who has put together a dominant junior season. Hart sounds locked in and based on the way he's produced this season, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he ends up as a five-star.
Michigan Wolverines get second win under Dusty May
In case you missed it, the Michigan Wolverines knocked off TCU on Friday night despite turning the ball over 21 times. That will need to get corrected but there are still plenty of positives. Michigan has room to improve but certainly looks like an NCAA tournament team right now, even with the flaws.
In other news, Michigan basketball also signed five-star guard Trey McKinney officially. So not only is May winning early, he's already landed a five-star and he's only been on the job around six months.
