Michigan football is one day away from taking the field against Maryland. The Wolverines are a two-touchdown favorite, and we offered up three reasons why they will avoid the upset.

If they can do that, Michigan should be in a strong position to make the College Football Playoff, after being ranked 18th earlier this week. The Wolverines have to leap about eight spots, but with No. 1 Ohio State on the schedule, it feels like two wins will get them there.

On the recruiting trail, Michigan football could be adding a 26th commitment to the 2026 class. Three-star interior offensive lineman Adrian Hamilton, who is currently committed to Virginia Tech, has been projected to flip to the Wolverines.

Out of Washington, D.C, Hamilton is ranked No. 652 overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He projects as a center.

Michigan Wolverines volleyball with a reverse sweep

The Michigan volleyball team is trending toward making the NCAA tournament as an at-large team, and a reverse sweep of Washington on Thursday night will certainly help its cause.

After falling down 2-0, the Wolverines rallied to take the third set, before winning the last two by two points each to take the 3-2 victory (19-25, 27-29, 25-18, 25-23, 15-13).

In the fourth set, Michigan trailed Washington 17-9, yet scored 16 of the next 22 points to extend the match. Allison Jacobs had a big night for the Michigan Wolverines with 24 kills, a match high, to go along with 12 digs. Maddi Cuchran also recorded a double-double, the first of her carer, with 15 digs and 10 assists. Ella Demetrician also pitched in with 18 kills.

The Wolverines are 20-8 overall and 10-7 in the Big Ten with three matches to go. Michigan is projected into the NCAA tournament as a No. 8 seed.

Michigan women's basketball vs UConn

The Michigan women's basketball team surged to No. 6 in the AP Poll after dominating Notre Dame last week, 93-54. But now, the Wolverines will be tested in an entirely different way as they square off with the UConn Huskies, the defending national champions on Friday night.

Michigan is taking part in the Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at Mohegan Sun. The Wolverines will play No. 1 UConn on Friday at 8 PM EST on Fox.

The defending national champs have certainly looked the part again, even after the loss of Paige Bueckers to the WNBA. Olivia Olson, Syla Swords, and Mila Holloway have been outstanding for the Wolverines, and we'll find out if they are for real on Friday night.
