Michigan football hosted five-star running back Savion Hiter over the weekend for an official visit, and by all accounts, things went really well.

There were pictures posted of Hiter taking handoffs from Bryce Underwood. The five-star running back who is ranked 11th overall in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry rankings, has also been considering Tennessee, Georiga, and Ohio State.

According to a report from Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos of On3.com, his recruitment has narrowed down to Michigan football and Tennessee. However, they have reported that before and Hiter pushed back.

Regardless, it feels like the Wolverines are near the top of the recruitment. We'll see if they can finish and yes, it's going to take some significant NIL money to get it done. He's a five-star running back after all and those don't come cheap.

Michigan basketball hosting 5-star

The Wolverines have turned their focus to the 2026 class on the recruiting trail in basketball, although they did just add two 2025 commitments to the roster in the past month.

However, looking ahead to 2026, five-star Toni Bryant, a 6-foot-10 power forward who is ranked 13th overall, will take an official visit to Michigan in October, according to Joe Tipton of On3.com.

Arizona, Florida State, North Carolina, Missouri, and North Carolina State are also on the schedule to get visits. Still, it's a good sign for the Michigan Wolverines and also an indication that Dusty May will keep swinging for fences on the recruiting trail.

A commitment coming for Michigan football?

Hayes Fawcett, a recruiting insider for On3.com, posted a Michigan graphic on Tuesday night, suggesting a commitment is on the way.

Fawcett could be making an edit for a recruit to post when he announces, so the timeline could be down the road. Yet, it's still good news for Michigan.

There are a few commitment candidates right now with dates approaching, although some other top targets could pop for Michigan football.

Either way, good news is coming on multiple fronts.
