Everyone is still fired up over Michigan and Dusty May winning the national title over UConn. It was a strong March and April for the Big Ten powerhouse, with the first title in 37 years being posted. Could this end up being great news for Kyle Whittingham as well?

Michigan already connected to a trio of big-time transfer targets

While the new Michigan football coach is fired up for May, the win on the biggest of stages actually might lead to the football program posting a massive victory too. That's because 5-star wideout Dakota Guerrant was at Lucas Oil Stadium for the title matchup, celebrating among Michigan fans as the final whistle went off. Something tells us he's going to remember the passion from the fanbase once it's time to shut down his recruitment:

Michigan and Kyle Whittingham are hoping to land 5-star WR Dakota Guerrant later this year

Talk about a major recruiting tool. Seeing the Wolverines win the national championship is something Guerrant is probably going to remember for the rest of his life. This is also something Whittingham and his staff can sell to him, as the Wolverines are going to be hoping to win the natty on the gridiron soon too.

Guerrant has been high on Michigan for quite some time and it's safe to say that Whittingham is ready to go all-in to secure his verbal pledge. That of course is not going to be easy, as the 6-1, 195-pounder has picked up 46 offers this cycle, with Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon and Texas A&M considered the favorites.

As noted by reporter Brice Marich, Guerrant is all set to take an official visit to Ann Arbor in June and that could very well end up being a game-changer for him. Oregon continues to make a splash with his recruitment and from our chair it feels like UM may have a little catching up to do.

With that said, anything can change with recruiting at any moment and the fact that Guerrant was in Indy cheering on Michigan with the national title glory on the line sure feels telling. Will it make the ultimate difference in Michigan signing him this December? Probably not, but it sure as heck is going to help if that does end up going down.
