Michigan football just re-offered an offensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting class, and it's one that fans could really grow to love.

Lex Mailangi, a 6-foot-3, 330-pound interior offensive lineman out of Mater Dei, one of the top high schools programs in the country, out in California, was offered by Michigan back in the spring of 2024.

That offer came from the previous coaching staff. Yet, the Wolverines have expressed interest in the three-star offensive lineman, re-offering recently, making themselves a player once again in the recruitment of the 330-pounder.

"I didn't know if my offer still stood because of the coaching change and it was very much appreciated to know I'm still a priority for Michigan," The three-star recruit told Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider.

The Wolverines feel like they will become a top contender here quickly, but winning this recruitment won't be easy. Oregon is listed as "warm" by 247 Sports. The Ducks are one of the elite programs that have offered. Alabama is another. Tennessee, Texas Tech, USC and UCLA are some of the others.

Courtney Morgan, the Alabama GM, knows talent on the West Coast, so that adds credence to the idea that Mailangi is probably a better prospect than his ranking suggests. It's curious that Kyle Whittingham didn't offer while at Utah.

The Utes recruited California really well under Whittingham, but regardless, Jim Harding, the offensive line coach, has offered and the massive O-line target is one to keep an eye on.

Oregon has the only offcial visit locked up for the "powerful" O-line recruit, but Michigan should have a good chance to getting him to Ann Arbor for an official visit, although a spring visit would be a big first step in the right direction.
