Michigan basketball had a terrifying lineup in the 2025-26 season. The Wolverines won the national championship because of it.

They could be terrifying in 2026-27, although, it could look just a little bit different.

Dusty May has Michigan basketball in the mix to land one of the top players in the transfer portal, a 6-foot-7 wing, Juke Harris, who is one of the best scorers in college basketball.

Last season, Harris averaged 21.4 points per game for Wake Forest. He scored 19 in a close loss against Michigan. Harris was All-ACC last season as a sophomore, as well as the league's most improved player. He made 2.5 3-point field goals per game on 7.5 attempts (33 percent), and also averaged 6.5 rebounds per game, and 7.1 free-throw attempts.

Harris shot 78.3 percent at the line. The Michigan basketball target, who is expected to visit this weekend, was fourth in the ACC in defensive rebounds, while averaging 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Juke Harris would make Michigan's lineup nearly impossible to guard

There's a lot to like about Harris. He would also fit perfectly with the other guards expected to start for Michigan basketball next season, Trey McKenney and Elliot Cadeau.

Cadeau has said he's coming back. McKenney, too. But until it's announced, nothing can be assumed. Still, it's hard not to imagine a starting lineup of Cadeau, McKenney and Harris.

All three players are threats from 3-point range. McKenney made 68 3-pointers (39.1). Cadeau was right behind him with 65 (37.6). Outside of LJ Cason, they were the best 3-point shooters on the Michigan basketball team.

Harris would essentially take Yaxel Lendeborg's spot in the lineup. Yaxel attempted 4.5 3-point attempts per game. He's not as impactful on defense, but Brandon McCoy is another option. The five-star guard is 6-foot-7, a solid defender, and could play a similar role to McKenney's this past season.

It feels like Aday Mara isn't coming back. The Arizona game alone should have made him a lottery pick. He can do everything you want a modern center to do, especially with an improving jump shot.

It feels like there's a good chance to get Morez Johnson back, but he's another projected first-round pick. I'd say if Michigan is going to repeat, it needs him back.

Michigan is in the mix for a few transfer targets, but it feels like the commitment of Harris could be coming relatively soon.
