Michigan football quarterback Bryce Underwood has been the subject of some weird rumors this offseason at the hands of rival fans.
Whether its Ohio State or Michigan State fans, outside of talking about the mythical "hammer" that NCAA is supposed to be dropping, which even the Big Ten is against, one of their favorite pasttimes is drumming up nonsense about Bryce Underwood.
You can understand why rival fans would be jealous. Underwood was the top-ranked player in the 2025 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's also been compared to superstars like Cam Newton and Vince Young, who led their programs to national championships.
That's the expectation for Underwood. The one he set for himself. That probably makes it easy for rival fans to hate him. However, some of the rumors have been insane. Some suggested Underwood was going to transfer to LSU before the season started.
The rumor was that Michigan's "NIL money didn't come through" which is total malarkey. Yet, that wasn't even the craziest rumor about Underwood spread by rival fans. After taking a photo of Underwood out of context, some fans called him "fat."

Underwood laughed it off during an interview with The Wolverine on Monday.
"I'm fat," he said when asked by Chris Balas what the craziest thing he saw on social media was. "I would just get off social media. You feel me? I was just sitting there confused. It gets to a point. It's cool, though."
Underwood responded earlier with pictures of him with his shirt off. The dude is 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, and run sprints with the running backs and wide receivers.
Fans can think what they want. But Michigan football fans shouldn't be worried about Underwood being fat, or pay attention to the other rumors.
Soon enough, he'll be able to let his play do the talking.
