Tuesday wasn't a great day for Michigan football on the recruiting trail, with Dakota Guerrant announcing his commitment to Oregon, but the show must go on, as they say, and there are other targets on the board.

We outlined three wide receivers recruits Kyle Whittingham's staff could target, plus, Michigan football is going to push for Guerrant, at least until signing day.

On the defensive side of the ball, one of the recruits who hasn't gotten enough attention is four-star defensive back Marcus Jones.

Jones is ranked as a three-star recruit, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. However, the rankings from the three different recruiting services are vastly different. That should matter to Michigan football fans because Jones will be in Ann Arbor for an official visit this weekend.

Michigan football aims to add another blue-chip in the secondary

Tennessee is currently in the pole position, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, yet the Wolverines will get the final word, at least with the last official visit.

Steve Wiltfong of Rivals just logged a projection for the Vols via the Rivals RPM, which is why Tennessee is suddenly the favorite. Michigan hasn't given up, though, and another national expert, Chad Simmons, also of Rivals, posted that this was a "big visit" for Jones.

That suggests there still could be plenty of movement in this recruitment. Jay Hill's defense should be a selling point, too. Players in the secondary tend to shine. Jones is ranked No. 263 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Rivals has him ranked No. 197.

However, ESPN doesn't have Jones ranked at all. 247 Sports has him as a three-star recruit in their own rankings, which is why he's ranked No. 723 in the Rivals Industry Rankings.

It feels like the other rankings services will eventually catch up to Rivals. In addition to Tennessee, Ole Miss and North Carolina have also been in the mix.

Michigan football will get Jones on campus for Victors Weekend, which lost a little bit of luster after Guerrant decided to shut down his recruitment. But there are going to be some major targets/commitments on campus. It's always a great visit weekend, and it should give the Wolverines a legitimate chance to sway Jones before he ultimately makes a decision.

The Wolverines have 16 commitments right now. 12 of them are blue-chip prospects. Michigan has dropped to 13th in the 247 Sports team composite rankings, so a commitment is needed.
