Michigan football is now the heavy favorite to land five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola in the 2025 recruiting class.

The Michigan Wolverines have been pushing to land the 6-foot-6, 280-pound prospect out of Kansas for months, but Stanford, Auburn, and others have also been battling for his commitment.

Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore is from Kansas and Michigan football recently paid a visit to Babalola, which has been part of a recent surge. Steve Wiltfong of On3.com was the first to put in a projection for the Michigan Wolverines, but others have followed suit.

Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider has projected the five-star offensive tackle to commit to Michigan football, along with two other crystal ball projections. The On3 prediction machine has the Wolverines as the overwhelming favorite.

As far as the timeline, Babalola talked about a commitment in early September and has said he wants to be committed before the end of his high school season. Right now, it feels like this needs to happen this month for Michigan football or I might get a little worried.

But right now, all signs are pointing toward the Michigan Wolverines landing their first five-star commitment since Will Johnson in the 2022 recruiting class.

Dusty May has had some impressive recruiting wins in the transfer portal but he hasn't done a ton in high school recruiting outside of some late adds in the 2024 class.

However, in the 2025 class, the Michigan Wolverines are still aiming to land five-star combo guard Trey McKenney who is set to announce a commitment on November 9th between Michigan, Georgetown, and USC.

Out of Flint, Michigan, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound combo guard is ranked 20th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He recently took an official visit to Ann Arbor and told Travis Branham of 247 Sports that he could see himself playing in the Wolverines system.

There are no crystal ball projections at this time for McKenney and it will be interesting to monitor his recuritment in the coming weeks as the Wolverines look to breakthrough with the five-star guard.

A couple of other notes: Tom Brady, the Michigan football legend, has been approved as a minority owner for the Las Vegas Raiders. Brady will own about 10 percent of the team.

Another Michigan football legend, Aidan Hutchinson, suffered a broken leg this week in a horrific injury. The Lions placed him on injured reserve on Tuesday but head coach Dan Campbell said it would be 4-6 months and if the Lions made the Super Bowl, there is hope he could return.
