Michigan football has some positive momentum on the recruiting trail right now as we head toward Early National Signing Day next month.
Already this week, Michigan football has been trending to flip former Wisconsin commitment, and three-star linebacker Aden Reeder in the 2026 class.
Reeder was offered by Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Iowa, and Kentucky in late October. He finally decommitted from the Badgers on Sunday night, after a flurry of expert projections came in for him to flip to Michigan football.
Things progressing with another Michigan football flip target
That announcement still hasn't happened. It could come at any time. Yet, another 2026 linebacker to have on the radar for Michigan football recruiting is three-star Marcus Jennings, from Detroit Cass Tech.
Jennings is listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. He's ranked No. 613 overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's been a highly productive player and helped Detroit Cass Tech win a state championship last season playing all over the field.
Jennings has spent time at safety, linebacker, and in a hybrid role. The Pittsburgh commitment since March was offered on Monday. Allen Trieu of 247 Sports describes him as having a "nose for the ball." He also runs the 40-meter dash in 4.58. He also ran an 11.02 in the 100-meter dash. Jennings is also known for his coverage skills.
Linebacker seems to be his best spot. It would take some physical development, but he's also someone who could contribute on special teams early in his career. After the offer, Jennings visited Michigan football on Tuesday, according to Ethan McDowell of The Wolverine.
Jennings has 89 total tackles, 18 sacks and 30 tackles for loss through 10 games this season, which means he could be due for a rankings update, sort of like Elijah Dotson after Michigan football flipped him from Pittsburgh late in the 2025 cycle.
Jennings did rebuff interest from Nebraska this fall. So a flip isn't a guarantee. There is hope he will come back for an official visit, though, which could help put the Wolverines over the top in this recruitment.
