The Michigan annual Maize and Blue game is officially in the books, and the Wolverines hosted a slew of high school recruits at the game, one being a 4-star cornerback, Davon Benjamin, who is listed as the No. 2 cornerback in the Class of 2026 according to On3 rankings.
Benjamin has yet to make a commitment for where he will play his collegiate career, and while it didn't seem like Michigan was in the mix, that could have all changed. Benjamin was in attendance at Michigan's spring game and seemed to really enjoy the really like the program and even said that the Wolverines are beginning to stand out in his recruitment.

Michigan is not the only team in the mix right now, as the 4-star cornerback also took an official visit to Oregon, so the Ducks seem to be a solid competitor in Benjamin's recruitment. The Wolverines are also battling Miami, USC, Washington, and bitter rival Ohio State for Benjamin's commitment.
The California native is seriously looking at schools near his home, like Oregon, USC, and Washington, but his interest in Michigan, Ohio State, and Miami shows he is willing to venture a little further from home.
The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback has a lot of speed, making him a great athlete, and has the ability to stick with his target on defense. In his most recent high school season, Benjamin recorded 35 total tackles, 35 solo tackles, five tackles for a loss, six interceptions, four passes defended, and a fumble recovery.
With official visits becoming the headline of football recruitment in the summer months, Michigan fans should keep their eyes peeled for where Benjamin is heading. Landing a speedy cornerback like Benjamin could benefit Michigan greatly in the long run; however, losing him to a rival like Ohio State or Big Ten foe Oregon could prove costly.
