Michigan football has won consecutive games on the field to surge up to No. 21 in the latest polls. Now, it's time for the Wolverines to notch a win or two on the recruiting trail.

With all of the head coach firings, with Brian Kelly's exit at LSU being the latest, there are tons of opportunities for flips, even as we are just more than a month away from Early National Signing Day.

Michigan has 21 commitments in the 2026 class. The Wolverines are ranked 10th overall. There is some concern about the pledge of four-star Julian Walker. The blue-chip EDGE has visited South Carolina. There is also talk about his visiting Nebraska for the USC game this weekend (Rivals).

Michigan football trying to flip two recruits

Yet, the Wolverines also have multiple recruits they are trying to flip. Michigan lost the commitments of two defensive backs earlier this cycle, so they have been trying to find another cornerback, and the firing of Brian Kelly couldn't have come at a better time.

Michigan football was already in a position to flip LSU four-star commitment Havon Finney, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback out of California. He's ranked 82nd overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

According to The Wolverine.com, Michigan has been the "most consistent" school in contact with the blue-chip corner, outside of LSU. The Wolverines even visited him when they were out in LA to play USC.

Another 2026 recruit to watch is three-star linebacker Aden Reeder out of Ohio. He's ranked No. 559 overall in the 2026 class as a 6-foot-3, 210-pounder. Reeder is commited to Wisconsin, but according to Ethan McDowell of Rivals, he will visit Michigan football this weekend. It feels like there could be some movement this weekend if things go well.

Michigan is also in a good spot to flip Duke four-star offensive line commitment Sean Stover, too. He also visited recently, so even if Michigan loses Walker, it could be adding more than one commitment to the 2026 class before it's all said and done.
