Michigan football can finally move past the "Burger Gate" scandal after the Wolverines served the final part of their punishment for that scandal over the past few weeks, as coaches were restricted from going on the road to recruit.

Michigan coaches informed recruits that there would be a pause until May 19th. Well, that pause ends Sunday, and according to Ethan McDowell of The Wolverine.com, the Wolverines already have some in-home visits planned, including one with running back Amari Latimer out of Georgia.

According to McDowell, Tony Alford, the Michigan football running backs coach, will visit Latimer, who also has official visits scheduled to Georgia and Wisconsin, as well as the Wolverines in June.

Latimer hasn't visited Ann Arbor since November 2024. However, the contact has increased and with Javian Osborne committing to Notre Dame recently, it makes sense for the Wolverines to prioritize another running back in addition top target Savion Hiter.

Wisconsin has the crystal ball lead right now. But it feels like there is plenty of time for Michigan football to make a move, which needs to start with Sunday's visit.

Latimer, a 6-foot, 200-pound running back is ranked No. 327 overall in the 2026 class acording to the On3 Industry rankings. Texas leads according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine, but the Longhorns aren't on the dockett for an official visit, so we'll see.

2026 offensive lineman Zaden Krempin released a top four, according to Steve Wiltfong of On3.com. The Wolverines are one of the finalists, along with Texas, Texas A&M, and LSU.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder from Prosper, Texas, is listed as an interior offensive lineman. He's ranked No. 267 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2026 class.

Michigan will get the last official visit, and the offensive lineman told Wiltfong that the Wolverines "shocked him in a good way."

Michigan is trending up in this recruitment. Neither Texas school will be easy to beat out, but it feels like the Wolverines have a legit chance to snag Krempin out of the Lone Star State.

Four-star safety Chace Calicut also cut his recruitment down to three teams on Saturday, which included Texas, Michigan football, and Georgia. He's ranked 126th overall in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry rankings out of Houston, Texas.

The Longhorns are the favorite. On3's RPM machine gives them a 90-percent chance of winning the commitment.
