With spring ball in the books, but the biggest news there is to give with college football is recruiting news, and Michigan is still going strong in that department. The Wolverines were just named a finalist for the No. 9 offensive tackle in the Class of 2026, according to On3.

Kelvin Obot, a native of Fruitland, Idaho, has named his four finalists for where he wants to attend college starting in 2026. The No. 1 recruit in the state of Idaho has narrowed his choices down to Oregon, Nebraska, Utah, and, of course, Michigan. Obot comes in as a 4-star offensive tackle according to 247Sports.

Obot has scheduled official visits to each of his final four schools, starting with Utah on May 30. The young tackle is taking his time with his visits, as he will then go to Nebraska on June 6, and the following weekend, he will head up to Eugene, Oregon, for a visit with the Ducks on June 13. Obot will save the best for last as his final official visit will be with the wolverines on June 20.

The Idaho native has already had unofficial visits with each team, going to Nebraska and Oregon games in the fall and taking visits to Michigan and Utah in the spring. Obot has already eliminated Michigan State and USC from his list, even after visits with both teams.

By the time the 2026 season comes around, quarterback Bryce Underwood should be the starter for Michigan, so landing Obot could be big for the Wolverines, as he could come in and be big protection for Michigan's future. Obot certainly has the size to be a big protector, coming in at 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds.

Obot has not announced a deadline for his commitment, so we will be keeping an eye on when he chooses to make his announcement in the coming weeks.
