Michigan football will face off against the #1 team in the nation for the first time since 2006 on Saturday when Oregon comes to town.

Michigan football fans are hoping to pull the upset in Ann Arbor and we have a prop bet that will add to the likelihood of that happening. We also have some eats and drinks that will make Saturday even more enjoyable. We are 3-4 so far on our prop bets (wasn't able to write last week because I was out of town. So, we need this one to get back to .500) Let's get into it.

Gameday recipe: Smoked ribs

Ingredients: Ribs, brown sugar, butter, barbecue seasoning

Recipe: Ribs in the smoker are one of our household favorites and also one of the easiest recipes out there! We use the 3-2-1 method when doing them. Start by preheating your smoker to 225 degrees and make sure it is at that temperature for at least 10-15 minutes.

Next, season your ribs liberally all over with your barbecue seasoning of choice. Once they are seasoned, place them in the smoker uncovered for three hours. If you want to spray them with an apple cider vinegar/beer mixture periodically, you can but it is optional. This can add some moisture to the ribs that will help with the tenderness. After the initial three hour smoke, you will wrap the ribs and put them back in the smoker for two hours.

You can use butcher paper or tin foil to wrap the ribs. I like to put a stick of butter and brown sugar on top of the ribs before wrapping them. You will definitely want to spray them down with vinegar and beer during this step. These three ingredients will add flavor and texture to the ribs. After this two-hour smoke, you should start to see the bones sticking out of the ribs.

Lastly, you will take the ribs out and sauce them with your barbecue sauce of choice. Once sauced, you will put them back in the smoker for an hour. The key to a good rib is to make sure they are tender. Although the recipe only calls for one hour in the smoker to finish, I like to keep them in closer to an hour and a half to ensure tenderness. Let them rest for 20-30 minutes and then you are ready to dig in. Some good sides with ribs include coleslaw, cornbread, baked beans, and french fries. A good beer to pair with ribs is Barbarian Haze from Three Floyds Brewery. This is a delicious beer with a 6.5 ABV that will pair very nicely with a barbecue meal.

Michigan football prop bet: Oregon first drive to end with a punt at +125.

We are taking a risk on this bet and playing off momentum. Michigan fooball is coming off a huge rivalry win where they played really well on the final two drives of the first half and the entire second half. I expect the crowd to be fully invested in this game and to bring the noise. This Michigan pass rush is going to be something that Oregon has not seen yet this year. If the secondary (hopefully getting Will Johnson back this week) can hold up on the first drive, I expect Michigan's defensive line to get to Gabriel and cause a punt on the first drive. Early stop for the Wolverines and we have money in our pocket. Let's shock the world boys. Go Blue!
