The final week of the NFL season was pretty good to Michigan football alums, starting with Jim Harbaugh who led the Chargers to their 11th win in his first season as head coach.
After leading Michigan football to a national championship, Harbaugh led the Chargers to a six-win improvement and the No. 5 seed in the AFC Playoffs. Next up is C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans.
Hassan Haskins, who scored five touchdowns for Michigan football in the 2021 win over Ohio State, pitched with 33 yards on 12 carries and a rushing touchdown in a win 34-20 win over the Raiders.
Speaking of the Texans, who already had their playoff spot wrapped up, Nico Collins caught a touchdown pass on Sunday. He also reached 1,000 yards for the second straight season with 68 receptions for 1,006 yards. He'll face his former head coach on Saturday at 4:30 PM EST.
Kwity Paye, Mazi Smith, and Rashan Gary all had sacks for the Colts, Cowboys, and Packers respectively, while AJ Barner had a touchdown reception in the season-ending win for the Seattle Seahawks who reached 10 wins in the first season under head coach Mike Macondald, who was the Michigan football defensive coordinator during the 2021 season.
Macdonald was critical in the Wolverines vanquishing Ohio State. That defense or some version of it, has helped Michigan beat Ohio State four straight times. Seattle missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker but it was still an impressive head-coaching debut for a dude who wasn't even a college defensive coordinator until 2021.
