2024 has been one heck of a year for former Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh. After leading the Michigan Wolverines to a win over Alabama in the Rose Bowl, and a win in the national championship game, Harbaugh returned to the NFL to coach the Chargers.
Last season, the Chargers won just five games. But Harbaugh, who is known for turnarounds, like the one he completed with Michigan football, took a team with a top-10 pick and turned them into a playoff squad in one season.
The Chargers clinched a wildcard berth on Saturday thanks to a 40-7 win over the New England Patriots. Harbaugh has found success with Stanford, the 49ers, Michigan football, and now the Chargers.
The dude might just be the best football coach around. He'll be in the College Football Hall of Fame one day and who knows, he might make the Pro Football Hall of Fame too. When you consider all he did as a player, it's one of the most incredible careers in football, period.
Harbaugh is a Michigan man and a Michigan football legend.
Huge game on tap for Michigan Wolverines women's basketball
The 23rd-ranked Michigan women's basketball fared well in a matchup against South Carolina earlier this season and on Sunday, Michigan faces another huge test on the road against fourth-ranked USC.
Juju Watkins will lead the way for the Trojans who are 11-1 and just defeated UConn on the road. Syla Swords, Olivia Olson, and Jordan Hobbs will lead the way for the Michigan Wolverines who are currently projected as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Michigan women's basketball will play USC on Sunday, followed by top-ranked UCLA on the road on Wednesday. The game against USC will tip off at 10 PM EST on the Big Ten Network.
Michigan basketball faces final non-conference test
The men's basketball team will also play at home on Sunday against Western Kentucky in the final non-conference game of the season. According to the Kenpom rankings, the Hilltoppers are ranked No. 112 overall, so they are capable of causing problems for the Michigan Wolverines.
Still, 9-3 Michigan basketball is an 18.5-point favorite according to DraftKings. Both teams average 82 points per game but the Michigan Wolverines are also one of the better defensive teams in college basketball (23rd in Kenpom rankings).
That should make the difference along with 7-footers Danny Wolf and Vlad Goldin. Tip-off is set for 8 PM EST on Big Ten Network.
