Michigan football is hoping to add some recruits to its 2025 class that are currently committed elsewhere.

While the results on the field haven't been perfect for Michigan football, the Wolverines have won enough that there hasn't been a negative impact on the recruiting trail, yet.

Andrew Olesh and Ivan Taylor, two of the top-ranked Michigan football commitments, are being courted by Alabama. It feels like there is more reason to worry about Taylor than Olesh, but losing either of those would be painful.

Michigan football has 16 commitments in the 2025 class. The Wolverines class is ranked 15th overall according to the 247 Sports team rankings. However, U-M isn't just trying to guard against flips, its attempting to flip some of its own 2025 recruits.

Michigan football trying to flip three commitments

The Wolverines are in a good spot to flip 2025 three-star wide receiver Jamar Browder, a North Carolina State commitment. Browder is expected to visit again at some point after taking in a recent game.

Michigan has also been pushing to flip four-star cornerback Donovan Starr from Auburn. Here's the latest on that recruitment from EJ Holland of The Wolverine:

“He has blazing track times,” Holland said. “He runs in the 10.5s. I believe his time was faster than former commit Phillip Wright, who was considered one of the fastest receivers in America. Starr is one of the fastest corners in the country. When you look at Auburn, you think NIL, right? But I do think he has some connections here. He is a Ravenwood kid out of the Nashville-area. That high school should be familiar to Michigan fans because it produced former linebacker Junior Colson and current defensive back Myles Pollard. Ravenwood has always been kind to Michigan.”

Starr committed to Auburn this summer. He's 6-foot-1, 176 pounds and is ranked No. 423 overall in the 2025 class and is expected to Michigan later this month. That's always a good sign and it's at least an opportunity to make Starr think seriously about flipping.

Another flip target for Michigan is three-star offensive tackle Nolan Davenport. Out of Ohio, the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder out of Massillon has been committed to Wisconsin since June. The Wolverines offered on Wednesday.

The next step is getting him on campus for a visit. Until then, it's hard to say it's serious. He is ranked No. 716 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Michigan has just one offensive tackle committed in the 2025 class. Avery Gach is the only tackle currently part of the class and adding Davenport would help shore up that need.
