On Saturday we got a glimpse of what team 145 could be when hitting on all cylinders. They dismantled Northwestern in every facet of the contest. For once the coaches didn't make any boneheaded decisions and the social media crowd was rather pleased with what they saw one week before "thee game."

Now here are three of the most outrageous overreactions from around the web after a 50-6 win for Michigan football.

1. Our defenders are constantly out of place

This is one that I saw on a Facebook group post and am assuming that it was referring to the 39-yard pitch and catch from Jack Lausch to Bryce Kirtz. First of all, Kirtz was in the right place at the right time as the ball landed conveniently in his bread basket. Zeke Berry was a step ahead and couldn't stop to deflect it away, while Mason Curtis wasn't close enough to make a play on the ball. It was the prettiest play, in an otherwise careless day for the Cats.

After that catch, Northwestern did nothing. That makes this an overreaction that was posted to early. If you go back to earlier in the season then this statement holds more truth to it, but not on Saturday. Aamir Hall and Curtis snagged their first interceptions of the season and the defense was like the 2023 version of itself out there. It was the type of performance that we've been dying to see from the maize and blue all season long.
