Kyle Whittingham hasn't been shy about looking to the future at Michigan, especially when it comes to recruiting. The 2027 cycle still has a few recruits waiting to make their decisions, but attention is certainly being turned to 2028 and even a little bit to 2029. Whittingham is already working hard on the 2028 cycle, and there are a few exceptions he is making for the 2029 class.

Michigan has a long history of great players who went on to have great NFL careers. Those great players went on to live lives, have families, and now some of their children are planning their college careers. Charles Woodson is about to see his son, Charles Woodson Jr., in a Michigan uniform in 2027. Whittingham is already expecting a visit during the Oklahoma game from 4-star EDGE rusher Asa Burch, the son of Michigan man, Alfie Burch.

Now, Whittingham is setting his sights on another Michigan legacy, 2029 prospect Mario Manningham Jr., you guessed it, the son of Michigan wide receiver Mario Manningham. If it feels crazy that Manningham's son is already close to his college recruitment, you aren't alone. It does not feel that long ago that Manningham graced the field in Ann Arbor, and now his son could be following in his footsteps.

Michigan offers 2029 WR Mario Manningham Jr.

Michigan has officially offered Mannginham Jr., something he learned after attending a Michigan skills camp back in June. The young 2029 stud was over the moon to learn about the offer, and even shocked that he had already earned an offer.

"I found out about the offer after the camp, and I was shocked when it happened," Manningham Jr. told The Michigan Insider. "I knew that I had a good camp that day, but wasn't expecting to receive an offer that day, but I was definitely beyond grateful. It means a lot. I just want to continue to work and improve every day."

Mario Manningham Jr. isn't the only Michigan legacy Kyle Whittingham is after

Whittingham hasn't been shy in trying to lure Michigan legacy recruits to Ann Arbor. Even though he didn't make the offer to Woodson Jr. last summer, Whititngham was diligent in his pursuit of the three-star defensive back. Once Woodson announced his commitment to Michigan, fans were overjoyed to hear the legacy had decided on the Wolverines.

Now, Whittingham is also making a play for Burch, who will make a visit to Ann Arbor for the Oklahoma vs. Michigan game. Burch has already received 23 offers early in his recruitment and could be yet another Ohio native who could cross state lines to join the Wolverines.

So, even though it is incredibly early for Manningham to decide where he wants to play his college career, Whittingham is making it clear with the offer that he wants him in Ann Arbor. Whittingham is building a legacy pipeline at Michigan, and fans have to be over the moon to see some of their favorite player's kids coming back to the Wolverines.
