Fresh off winning its first national championship in 37 years, Michigan basketball has added three players from the transfer portal: Moustapha Thiam, J.P. Estrella, and Jalen Reed.

All three players are at least 6-foot-10. Thiam is 7-foot-2, while Estrella is 6-foot-11. All three come from major conferences, too. Estrella and Davis played in the SEC for Tennessee and LSU. Thiam played in the Big 12 for Cincinnati.

Michigan fans were hoping that the Wolverines were also going to add Juke Harris, a 6-foot-7 wing from Wake Forest. However, it feels like that ship has sailed. Harris has entered the NBA draft, but if he returns to college, Tennessee is expected to be the choice.

So, the transfer portal haul is three right now, one short of the four Michigan landed last offseason. While other moves could be made, trusted college basketball analyst Andy Katz, who works for the Big Ten Network, named the Wolverines one of his transfer portal "winners" in the Big Ten.

Katz ranked Michigan second among his Big Ten transfer portal winners behind Indiana, saying the "Wolverines are filling gaps at this point."

Michigan has to replace Aday Mara and Morez Johnson, who each declared for the NBA draft. There's a chance Johnson could return, but it's not likely. May did say Michigan was doing its homework on some other players in the portal, although it's not clear if anyone will be added.

The head coach said he was "happy" with his roster. Another player who can play the three would be nice. The Wolverines have dropped slightly in the Jon Rothstein Top 45. They are now No. 4 four right, which still isn't a bad place to be after losing three first-round picks to the NBA.
