While he may not be in a rush to make a final decision, Michigan fans everywhere are waiting to see what standout transfer Juke Harris is going to do. For a while now, he's been linked to North Carolina, Tennessee and Michigan, with all three teams going all-in to land him.
5-star visit shakeup puts onus back on transfer portal for Michigan's Dusty May
However, is it safe to assume that the Tar Heels and Michael Malone are out of the race? From our chair, we'd say so, as UNC has landed three new commits this week: Matt Able, Maxim Logue and Terrence Brown. With Able and Brown in particular, it sure makes it seem like Malone might be set at the position. Is this good news for Dusty May and his staff when it comes to the Harris pursuit?
Michigan is still doing whatever is possible to land Wake Forest transfer Juke Harris
Tennessee and Michigan indeed feel like the two teams left in this race. Harris averaged more than 21 points per game last season, really making a name for himself in the ACC. It wasn't a surprise at all when he entered the portal, nor was it shocking that so many teams have reached out.
Michigan has been linked with him for quite some time and May made the brilliant move to get him to Ann Arbor for a visit when the National Championship parade was taking place. Come on, that was gold and it's something Harris will keep in his mind until he makes his final decision.
With that said, Rick Barnes and Tennessee are making things tough for him, selling him on a bright future in Knoxville. Barnes and his staff have put together one of the best transfer classes in the country, as the Vols clearly want to help the legendary coach lead UT to the Final Four for the first time.
While Nate Ament is off to the NBA Draft as a projected first-round pick, that doesn't take away from the fact that Tennessee is already looking like a contender to win the SEC in 2026-27. And Barnes no doubt has a Final Four on his mind.
So, where does that leave things for Harris and Michigan? It's tough to say, but May isn't going to stop pushing hard to sign him until he's told no. Wolverines fans are hoping the opposite will end up being the case, with Harris telling Barnes he's going to the reigning national champs. Hopefully soon we find out what Harris decides, but it's a decision countless people can't wait for it to come in.
