Kyle Whittingham's Michigan football coaching staff is coming together quickly after the Wolverines' season ended in the Citrus Bowl on Wednesday.

The first domino to fall was offensive coordinator Jason Beck. Even though this move was expected, it was reported that Beck informed Utah of his plans. Whittingham also confirmed the hire on ESPN's College Gameday.

Yet, there has been reporting on more coaching hires for Michigan football. Joining Beck, the new offensive coordinator, will be Utah's wide receivers coach Micah Simon. He's expected to take the job of wide receivers coach at U-M, meaning that Ron Bellamy is out.

That could have ramifications with Michigan wideout Andrew Marsh. There has been a growing concern about his remaining on the team next season, and it's hard to know how a new position coach will impact things.

Simon has a strong track record, though. He feels like a future offensive coordinator, and hopefully, he can convince Marsh to stay. Travis Johnson, the four-star wide receiver signee in the 2026 class, is another who needs to be contacted immediately. The wide receiver room will be much better moving forward with each of them in it.

More coaching moves for Kyle Whittingham

Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported the hire of Simon. He is also reporting that Whittingham will hire his brother, Freddie Whittingham, to the Michigan staff, too. It hasn't been clarified if that will be as the tight ends coach. There could be an opening there for Grant Newsome, if he's not retained as the offensive line coach. That job is expected to go to current Utah O-line coach Jim Harding, although there is no word yet.

Harding and Jay Hill, who is expected to be the defensive coordinator, are among the moves we are watching to become official.
