Things are trending in the right direction for Michigan football in the recruitment of Javian Osborne, a top-100 running back in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Osborne is from Texas. The Longhorns were among the favorites but after their running backs coach Tashard Choice left for the Lions, they fell off. Osborne canceled his visit to Texas.

That led to multiple recruiting experts projecting the 5-foot-11, 195-pound running back to the Wolverines. It's far from a done deal though. Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reported on Osborne's visit schedule. He will visit Michigan football during the summer. But the elite running back will also visit Georgia this spring along with SMU, Miami, and Alabama.

There's a chance he could visit another school too. Texas could even get back into the mix. It's not like Osborne eliminated them. However, EJ Holland of The Wolverine reported on Sunday that Osborne will also visit Michigan football this spring for a multi-day visit (March 28-30).

This is huge news. Georgia is also getting a visit this spring but after Osborne visited Michigan football three times last year, including twice for games, getting him back on campus in March, then again in June would be massive.

That's how you land an elite running back in SEC country. You wonder if there is any chance that Michigan football could push up his timeline and get him to commit this spring. He'll get a first-hand look at Bryce Underwood and the new offense under Chip Lindsey, which will be very running back-friendly, just like it was for Omarion Hampton the past two seasons.

Osborne has gone on record that Michigan is the leader. Now, the Wolverines need to close and this spring visit is another step in that direction.
